Seasonal Sensor Operator

Our Geo department solves problems using advanced remote sensing techniques. We own and operate an airborne suite consisting of survey grade cameras and hyperspectral sensors; this is supported by a range of highly specialised ground-based sensors. We process, integrate, and analyse this data with a range of other imaging and non-imaging data to deliver solutions.

 

2Excel Geo are unique in our ability to rapidly collect and process high quality hyperspectral imagery, this generates unique commercial and technical propositions.  We are now looking to appoint a seasonal Sensor Operator to join us during the summer months of May to September. It is expected that the work scope will comprise of a 4 on 4 off shift pattern that will include weekends.

 

The work location will vary across our sites and the post holder will be required to travel with or meet-up with the aircraft as required.

 

The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate that they have the following experience and capabilities:

 

  • Aviation experience, e.g., aerial survey, sensor operation, mission planning or private flying.
  • Experience with mission planning software, e.g., SkyDemon or similar.
  • Comfortable working in and around aircraft and liaising with flight crew.
  • Be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well both independently and with others.
  • Be enthusiastic and willing to learn.
  • Ability to work in an organized, logical manner and to follow a prescribed process.
  • Experience with aerial survey software, e.g., TrackAir (preferable but not essential)
  • Experience with GIS software and methods, e.g., QGIS, and proficiency with standard geospatial vector/raster formats (preferable but not essential).

 

Qualifications

Relevant experience OR undergraduate degree with relevant technical content, i.e., surveying, engineering, remote sensing, geomatics, GIS etc.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate the Right to Work in the UK and hold a valid UK Driving Licence.
