Key Responsibilities

The Assessment Product Developer is the Champion for a portfolio of Assessment Products and will support the entire product lifecycle including:

• Maintain a broad market awareness of the sector served by the Portfolio

• Monitor policy and changes to published assessment plans and ensure that any changes are reflected in our products promptly

• Create Business Cases for new products

• Analyse published assessment plans and recommend an approach to assessment

• Manage the creation of and changes to products and supporting collateral

• Oversee the rollout of products ensuring that all departments are informed and implement their respective tasks

• Review and report on products in line with contractual requirements as well as based on performance, client feedback, and standardization meetings

• Deliver product-related briefings to clients and assessors

• Ensure that accurate record keeping is adhered to throughout the product lifecycle

• Proactively seek to improve the product lifecycle and approach to assessment at DSW

• Work with colleagues to ensure a consistent approach is taken in the design and development of our Assessment products

Essential Requirements

• Able to demonstrate a successful track record in a role of similar complexity

• A proactive, multi-tasking, self-starter with good project management skills

• Highly collaborative with excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills

• Attention to detail and a focus on right-first-time

• Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills

• Good IT skills; familiar with the Microsoft Office suite and adaptable to new software packages

• Experience or knowledge of Product Management methodologies and approaches

• Experience within assessment or training design and delivery

• Professional, courteous, passionate, flexible, pragmatic, and personable

• Innovative, inspiring, incisive individual who works with integrity


• Knowledge of, or experience, in Further Education, Assessment Design, HR, Publishing, Product Management is beneficial but not essential as full training will be provided.
